This is a Game Jam game where the theme was: Based upon the writings of Stanisław Lem. For our game, our team chose The Futurological Congress as the basis for our game. The engine of our choice was Unity. We decided to make a 3D first-person shooter that was made to look as if it were inspired by FPSs of old. There is a meta part of this game where the player needs to beat the game by either quitting it or going back to the start and turning back. If the Player does not exit the game, it will go on forever. With enemies infinitely spawning. Voice telling the player to leave the game and wake up.

I was responsible at first for enemy AI. The AI in the game is the simplest it could get. As it is the 2D top-down AI with the Z axis added, if I recall correctly. With a simple state machine for its logic. It had everything it needed to work for our game. As the only game level was quite flat so the faults were not as easily seen. The theming around the Congress also helped, as we could say those are hallucinations from drugs. When the level was done, there was a need for doors to divide the areas of the map. The doors were a simple addition, but instead of opening like a door, to the left or to the right. The door opened straight up. It was easier to implement as it does not need to take in from which direction the Player is coming from. My other duty was to take care of version control and resolve any conflicts that might happen. I know there is no need to use version control during the game jam as you can just pass around the files on a pendrive from one to another, but the choice to use it helped us, for the most part, to save time and have everything we have done together. Nonetheless, the issues happened. One was disappearing objects as the person did not merge branches or forgot to switch them. There was one moment when our level disappeared, but it was easily fixed with a reversing commit. I was also on clean-up duty, where I tried to fix any bugs and mistakes and clean up others' code.

Example of the game
For the duration of the game jam, it went well as it went on, but we forgot about one thing. The ending. So we needed to scramble for it to make it work. But in the end, we have done it. From nine teams that partook in the game jam in that location, if I recall correctly. From those nine teams, there were three which made 3D games. From those three games our was the only one complete, from start to finish. There are faults with this game, as it was more of an experience than a game but for a game jam and for some of us the first one. We delivered.
